Foot Care Healing Cracked Feet

Where would we be without our feet? It is important to keep them in good condition. 

There are so many great things you can do to nurture yourself by pampering your feet:

  • walk of wet grass first thing in the morning
  • walk barefoot over pebbles then on chipped  bark
  • walk on the beach in soft dry sand then on the hard wet sand

  • soak in a foot bath with pure essential oils and Epsom salts
  • roll your feel in a bowl full of marbles

  • keep nails in check
  • choose to wear cotton and wool foot wear as apposed to synthetic fibers
  • be sure to wear comfortable shoes at all times
  • massage your feet with coconut oil and sleep with woolen socks on

This common problem  of cracked feet can be caused by:

  • lack of moisture
  • standing for long hours
  • using harsh soap
  • cold weather
  • continuous exposure to water
  • being over weight
  • wearing improper foot wear

All you need to heal your feet

  1. bucket of foot bath
  2. Epsom salts
  3. pumice
  4. foot scrubber
  5. dry towel
  6. one lemon
  7. cream/ coconut oil
  8. hot water

Easy steps to heal your feet:

  • Soak in foot bath of hot water with Epsom salts and lemon of 10 – 20  minutes
  • scrub gently with pumice or scrubber
  • rinse off
  • pat dry
  • massage with chosen oil or cream
  • put on cotton or woolen socks and hop into bed
  • in the morning wash feet in  warm water, towel dry  and lightly moisturize
  • repeat as often as is necessary

Disadvantages of cracked, dry feet:

  • unattractive
  • leads to painful feet
  • entry point for infection
  • difficulty walking
  • the need to limit time of your feet

What to avoid:

  1. saunas / steam baths
  2. harsh laundry detergents and soap
